NORTH WALES CLIMBING COURSES

Every course is bespoke and based upon your availability. We specialise in traditional climbing courses and Alpine/ Himalayan preparation.

We offer a range of courses:

Mountain Guiding & Scrambling - all abilities - Single and Multiple Day options.

Climbing Instruction - Beginer & Advanced courses - Alpine and Himalyan preparation.

Each course is designed with the clients goals in mind so not one course is ever the same. It's a great way to learn the skills to climb independently in the mountains or enjoy an adventurous day under the support of your expert guide.

Once booked you will receive a full kit list and itinerary. All of the technical kit is provided, however, we do not supply mountain boots or climbing shoes.

BEGINNER COURSES:

These courses are designed for people new to outdoor climbing and mountaineering but may visit indoor climbing walls. You may have completed some classic mountain walks but would like to experience scrambling and mountaineering under the safe supervision of a mountain guide..

Routes & Grades to Expect:

Guided scrambling routes grade 1-3. Routes may include Crib Goch on Mt Snowdon or the north ridge of Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley.

Climbing grades and routes depend on experience and location but your instructor will choose the best option for you and the group.

Experience Needed:

Hill walking experience and a basic level of fitness to cope with being in the mountains on the move for a full day. Some indoor and outdoor climbing experience is also useful for these days but not essential.

1 person:

1 day: £170

2 days: £340

2 person:

1 day: £220 (£110 each)

2 day: £440

Ratio: 1:2 with qualified instructor

ADVANCED COURSES

Advanced courses are for those training for specific expeditions and events such as alpine and Himalayan peaks. It is also for those looking to increase performance in climbing and mountaineering for UK and oversees projects. All courses are bespoke so please include any goals and requirements in the booking form.

Routes & Grades to Expect:

Guided scrambling routes grade 2-3. We may visit routes on the east face of Tryfan or venture into the Idwal slabs. Multi pitch climbing routes up to grade E2.

If you are interested in improving your climbing perfomance there are a number of ways we can help you achieve this.

Advanced courses:

Alpine preparations (Climbing long routes focussing on rope work and moving well over technical ground with big boots on)
Himalayan preparations (Covering techniques for Himalayan climbing routes)
Performance climbing (traditional climbing, sport)
Advanced rope work (rescue techniques and big mountain experience)
